Sunday Services
We meet every Sunday at 11am for an act of worship which, though relatively formal, may follow any one of a number of patterns and may include: readings, shared readings, prayers and meditations or reflections, an address or sermon, hymns and other music. Immediately after the service we gather for coffee.
Friday Light
There is also an additional service on Friday evenings at 6.30pm. "Friday Light" - is an end-of-week epilogue of which the content and atmosphere varies from week to week. It can include:
- Guided thoughts - may support reflection or compassionate thinking
- Readings - can be about any subject and are offered in a sharing spirit
- Responsive discussion - provides opportunities for engagement with our
own thoughts and those of others - Small rituals and music - enhance a meeting with meaning
In this way, gatherings can have many aspects: they may often be challenging and innovative and at other times offer serenity. Sometimes they might be silent and peaceful. An overall description is that they are joyful and celebratory. Friday Light is different because it is often fun, memorable and is adapted to people's needs and encompasses all age groups.
Discussion Group
Every second Wednesday morning we hold a Discussion Group (InQuirer Group) from 10.45am to 12.o0pm.
The District Minister is very happy to discuss special services to celebrate stages of life - anything arising along the way between birth and death.
